W.A.Y. (Westford Assured Youth)
The Westford Assured Youth or W.A.Y. offers many ways for youth to encounter the grace and love of a risen Christ. We are comprised of Junior and Senior high school students from all over Cabarrus County. Our Wednesday night program is filled with lessons that are both thought provoking and reflective. They are often interactive and packed with group participation. Our goal is to grow closer to the Lord and in turn closer to each other. We try to create a positive environment where all people are welcomed, whether it is your first visit or if you're a regular. With all the noise and chatter in this world, we try to focus in on the still small voice of our living, loving savior. Sunday afternoons are energetic and lively. We have a devotion time and then play various group building games. We also have free time to play games, relax and catch up on the week's activities and to fellowship with each other. We have also enjoyed several fun and exciting events.

• Movie night's
• Lock-ins
• Lake parties
• Ski trips
• Christian Concerts
• Carowind's Sonfest
• Emerald Pointe Methodist Youth Day
• Fall Weekend Retreats
• Fall Variety Show Fundraiser
• Judgment House
• Dave & Buster's Christmas Party
• High School only dinner and fellowship outings

Along with the fun trips we have been on, we have also participated in several mission oriented activities. Some of which are:

• Samaritan's Purse — Operation Christmas Child
• Back to School Items Drive for Salvation Army
• Volunteering in the Cabarrus County Soup Kitchen
• Monthly church shut in visit's
• Christmas caroling to several elderly church members
• Organizing a church wide Christmas card distribution
• Setting out luminaries during the Advent season
• Helping in all aspects of the Upward youth basketball program
• Summer Mission Trip

One of the highlights of our youth program is "Camp Faith," a month long summer day camp program. We offer a 3, 4, 5 year old week, two weeks of elementary age camp and one week of junior high. We have daily field trips, devotions, group games, arts & crafts and other fun activities. All campers receive a camp T-shirt for the week. The camp is a wonderful bonding opportunity that hopes to create memories that will last a lifetime.

W.A.Y. also offers youth an opportunity to participate in the ministry of the church. The youth leads the Easter Sunrise worship service every year. The service is capped off with a powerful drama. The kids work very hard and try their best to reach the congregation in a positive, uplifting way.

We are a very active youth group and are always looking for new and exciting ways to help our youth establish a firm faith in Jesus Christ. Beau does his best to make each youth feel special by supporting them at their various sporting events, dance recitals, etc. We currently have around 75 members and are always looking for more folks to come and share in the fun.

Please Note Our Safe Sanctuary Guidelines which are designed to insure the safety and well being of our youth and children. Our main area of safeguard is that no child or youth be in any part of our building without proper adult supervision. If your child or teenager needs to leave the Sanctuary during the service, it will be necessary for a parent to go with them. We appreciate your help in making our church a safe place.
